Clarity is recruiting a
Senior Hospital Pharmacist – Aseptic Compounding Unit in Cork (18 minutes from city centre).
What you need to know:
This is a
temporary full-time position (6-month contract) with the possibility of extension. The role is
Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm, based in a specialised hospital unit approximately 18 minutes from Cork city centre. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dedicated team providing essential services to cancer patients.
Salary and terms are in line with HSE pay scales.
What you'll be doing:
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team in a high-standard Aseptic Compounding Unit.
- Participate in the preparation and quality assurance of aseptically prepared products.
- Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and relevant regulatory standards.
- Contribute to the safe and effective use of chemotherapy and other aseptically prepared medications.
- Provide clinical input and support for oncology and haematology services.
- Maintain documentation, protocols, and procedures within the aseptic unit.
- Engage in audits, training, and ongoing service development.
What we desire:
- Prior experience in hospital pharmacy, ideally within cancer services.
- Hands-on experience in an Aseptic Compounding Unit is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure.
- A commitment to high-quality patient care and safety.
- Proven ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
What we require:
- Registration with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI).
- Minimum of three years’ post-registration hospital pharmacy experience preferred; candidates with less experience may be considered if they have significant relevant expertise in cancer services or aseptic compounding units (ACU).
- Candidates must have prior experience in hospital settings.
- Please note: Candidates with community pharmacy experience only or those transitioning into hospital pharmacy for the first time will not be considered for this role.
